This is a gentle-pace (14 field days) natural history tour, with adequate leisurely walking on each day.

We will be concentrating on searching for the unique and spectacular fauna of the Eastern Arc forests in and around the north eastern mountains.
Begins with a full day in Arusha National Park (on the slopes of Mount Meru) continues through the acacia-commiphora woodlands of the Somali-Maasai biome before going up into the cool Usambara Mountains (both West & East) and ends with three nights on the coast at the beautiful Saadani Safari Lodge in Saadani NP.
Day 1: Arrive Kilimanjaro International Airport KLM late evening; o/n Hatari Lodge
Day 2 o/n Hatari Lodge; full day in Arusha National Park
Day 3 Transfer to Hemingway's luxury camp at Olmolog (West Kilimanjaro) for two nights
Day 4 o/n Hemingway's camp (Hoopoe Safaris)
Day 5 Transfer to Mkomazi GR
Day 6 Mkomazi GR camp
Day 7 Transfer to Maweni Lodge at Soni in West Usambaras; afternoon in nearby Ndelemai forest reserve
Day 8 Drive (1.5 hrs) and walk in forests of West Usambaras (o/n Mazumabai Lodge in FR)
Day 9 Day in the magnificent Mazumbai Forest. Night at Mazumbai Lodge.
Day 10 Drive to Amani stay at the New Guest House (IUCN).
Day 11 o/n at Amani New Guest House
Day 12, 13 & 14 Transfer to Saadani Safari Lodge, Saadani NP for three nights.
Day 15 Afternoon transfer (air or vehicle) to Dar es Salaam for late evening flight KLM to Europe.
